2024-03: Transitions, Life Review, Stoicism, & EV Towing

Santa-John’s View from the Bridge
The View from the Bridge is an opinion piece which explores how political, societal, and other changes may impact the future.

Santa Helper John’s background…
We (my higher self and I) were born onto the Earth plane, this incarnation, on September 11, 1943.

Just imagine, in 1943 there were no computers, no cellphones, no television, lots of nos. We did have racism, sexism, homophobia, pedophilia, and lots of religious bigotry. in addition, child abuse was still in practice at home and in many so-called Christian institutions. Ever hear “Spare the Rod – Spoil the Child”?

Another downer about 1943 was WWII. You know a time when lots of people were dying because of a violent disagreement on who should rule the Earth, We the People, or Kings (the Nazis). It appears that disagreement continues today, even here in the USA.

That said, be at peace. We are transitioning into balance and equality for all, worldwide. Some have said we are in a 30-year transition period that started in 2020 and will be completed in 2050. Some say Mother Earth is rising from 3-D to 5-D, and we are entering the Age of Aquarius. Concurrently, we Humans are coming to realize that we are all part of the ONE FORCE. The FORCE of unconditional LOVE that rules the Universe. So, help in any way that you can. Please Vote!

And lastly, some psychics are saying that on our way from 3-D to 5-D we must transition through 4-D. They say, “Don’t Panic! in 4-D many old top-down structures are being removed and replaced.”

Now, let’s shine the spotlight on you, yes you, alone, standing privately, naked in front of the mirror…
1) Do you have a soul? – Yes! The body you see in your mirror, is an avatar for a star-seed, a spark of God.

2) Physically, does your soul reside in your body? – Yes! Many psychics suggest that the soul resides within your heart Chakra and powers your body. Furthermore, when the soul leaves the body, the body dies.

3) Where does the soul go when it leaves the body? – Home – a dimension we call Heaven.

4) Where does your body go when your soul leaves the body? – Home – back to Mother Earth! PS It’s not nice to steal from Mother, and no matter what you do, you can’t take anything with you. Some, like the ancients, loaded tombs which kept the grave-robbers employed, perhaps by the temple priests, who knows? However, recently we haven’t seen many hearses towing U-Hauls.

5) Do you have an Ego? – Yes – The Ego is a facet of the Soul. The Soul is training the Ego which controls the body via the mind. In other words, when you bring your ego/mind under control, you will begin to hear the small voice prompting and teaching you.

Honoring one View-mentor’s words:

Marcus Aurelius reminds us that “Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the Truth.”

Life Review

BAD NEWS – in my opinion There is no HELL! However, there is a Life Review. This has been confirmed by many psychics. Your review goes as follows:

  1. You view your interactions with those you’ve had contact with throughout your recent incarnation.
  2. You feel how your actions affected those you were interacting with. In other words, your actions from the other person’s perspective.
  3. This means you will feel any pain or joy you inflicted on that person. But wait, there is more –
  4. You will also feel any effects your actions caused downstream. For example, you yell and scream at someone you are interacting with. They in turn go home and beat their spouse, bad on them, but you feel the pain. On the flip side, say you help someone, even in a small way, maybe just a kind word. That kindness will return as love.

Worth Repeating – Becoming STOIC:

Santa’s Helper John says, I have led an incredible, guided life; I am on my 81st trip around the Sun, this lifetime. Looking back, I can see events that have guided me to where I am today. I believe we all live guided lives.

That said, recently I have been drawn to the life of Marcus Aurelius, the philosopher-king of Rome from 161 to 180 CE. Marcus was educated by a Greek slave who taught him the Warrior’s Ways. Those ways were the ways of the Spartans. The ways of the 300 who held the Persians at bay for so long. For more information on the Spartan lifestyle, you might like to watch the short YouTube video – “I Will Not Quit”  https://youtu.be/8hW7uxnR3AQ?si=wXEXKRzmiStQdDk0

If you would like to learn more about Marcus’ life and times, please explore his Meditations – https://youtu.be/TZfCTKHtEjE?si=4WEVAofDUccxMI_4

You might find the application of stoic philosophy helpful in reducing anxiety over the current political environment.

Stoic Principles (Review):

1) The past is gone. Learn from the past. Be an unemotional observer of your past. Enjoy your memories and learn from them. Don’t live there!

2) Focus on what you can control. The Stoic view is that you can only control your actions at this moment; and you can control your reactions to outside events. Events you do not control.

3) When acting, ALWAYS act thoughtfully, with honesty, truth, justice, and honor. Kinda sounds like the old Super-Man motto I heard on our tubby-tube tv during the 1950’s – “Truth, Justice, and the American Way”.

4) Do not fear the future. Don’t waste your time on “WHAT-Ifs” focus on and request the most benevolent outcome for any future event. Focus on the present, the NOW.

Stoic Principles (New):

5) Your Opinion of Me is none of My Business. This seems to be another way of saying Judge-Not, which is one of the principles taught in the New Testament by Christ. I’m reminded of passages like “let him without sin cast the first stone” or perhaps “Remove the log in your eye before attacking the sliver in others” or words with those meanings.

If you judge your actions during your life review, then no other opinion matters.

Electric Transportation:

As some of you may know, we have experienced towing a 5500 lb. trailer with a 2020 Tssla Model 3 from Oregon to Ohio and back during September 2021. Then in 2023 we made the same trip, same time of year with a 2001 Toyota 4Runner Limited.

We won’t bore you with all the details. Here is the bottom line for towing:

In our opinion, current electric vehicles are not well suited for towing.  Our Tesla had a range of about 280 miles at freeway speeds. While towing, starting with a full charge, the best distance we could manage was 100 miles towing at a speed of 25 miles per hour. In our experience, while towing with an electric vehicle, range is greatly impacted by speed.

As promised, here is the cost difference we experienced – electric vs gas!

Electric cost $0 for fuel and $0 for maintenance. Traveling through the western states was an issue because of the distance between charging stations. We also used overnight RV park stops along the way to plug in and charge the car. In addition, at the time we had a deal for free supercharging at Tesla charging sites for 2 years. That deal was acquired when we purchased our Tesla.

Gas cost estimates – $1100; Maintenance – $550. The Toyota gets about 10 mpg while towing and around 12 mph around town.

The distance from Albany, Oregon, to our destination in Ohio is a little over 1200 miles. There and back 2400 miles. In both cases we added miles during our stay at the location.

During the trip with the Tesla, we also spent a week in Michigan, visiting old friends and family. During the gas trip we stayed in Ohio. So, our run-around electric mileage was much higher than our run-around gas milage.

Given the experience of driving electric, we are looking forward to reacquiring an electric vehicle as soon as possible. We expect to be able to accomplish that objective by the end of 2025.

Thank you for your interest in electric vehicles. In our estimation they are worth the wait. We are tired of paying a travel toll to the Oil cartel. In our estimation, they have too much money and power!

In Short

We know all things work for the good, even though we might not see the good at the time. We also know whatever we plant in this realm we will harvest. Plant corn seeds, harvest corn. Plant fear in others, harvest fear of others. Moral – plant and harvest Love.

For now…Thank you for your attention. Keep in mind that we don’t know what we don’t know. So, don’t take our word for it. Meditate and find what is right for you.

For 2024 and beyond, we pray for peace. When the power of love overcomes the love of power, we will know peace.
