Pulse’s Tsonis Receives Prestigious Honor for Innovation

616HirschTas Tsonis PulseTas Tsonis, co-founder and CEO of Pulse Microsystems Ltd., is the 2016 recipient of the J.W. Graham Medal in Computing & Innovation from the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. The award honors Tas’ achievements, leadership and passion for innovation and the inspiration he has provided to others during his more than 35 years as an entrepreneur in the computer industry.Tas has a B. Math in Computer Science and Statistics from the University of Waterloo and a M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Toronto. Tas has held executive IT roles and has incubated successful technology companies in various fields.

As co-founder of Pulse Microsystems, which is distributed by Hirsch, he has created software that has transformed the personalization of apparel and accessories through graphical algorithms, computer science and mathematics and holds 12 U.S. patents.

Tas is the 22nd recipient of the medal, which will be presented at UW’s spring convocation on June 17, 2016. The preceding day, he will speak on technology to dignitaries, academics and students.
