Producer credits Kornit technology with increasing productivity and efficiency, accelerating time to market with Kornit Atlas
Kornit Digital (Nasdaq: KRNT), a worldwide market leader in digital textile printing technology, announced Los Angeles-based print-on-demand, fulfillment, and dropshipping company Awkward Styles, founded in 2014, has increased its production capacity with the installation of a Kornit Atlas system for rapid, industrial direct-to-garment (DTG) production on demand. Specializing in fulfillment for small and midsize brands, Awkward Styles provides POD service connecting online merchants such as WooCommerce, Etsy, and Shopify by offering printing, packaging, and shipping services. As a pioneer in the printing industry, Awkward Styles also sells their own brand products via Walmart, Amazon, Wayfair, and other online stores.
Awkward Styles installed its first Kornit Digital DTG system, an Avalanche, in 2015. Since then, the company has observed considerable success in growing its fulfillment capabilities, eliminating costly and time-consuming steps from the print process. With an eye towards expansion to a larger production facility in Los Angeles, California, the timing was right to add Kornit Atlas, which offers a lower total cost of ownership; streamlined, user-friendly maintenance functions; faster time-to-print; and brilliant, photorealistic digital graphic detail and color gamut requiring smaller quantities of sustainable, eco-friendly NeoPigment inks.
“After accumulating years of experience in fulfillment services, we’ve established a reputation for delivering high-quality apparel on demand, with a versatility to handle many jobs in various quantities,” said Kaya Gokhan, Awkward Styles CEO. “Kornit Digital set the standard for reducing inefficiencies in our production chain, eliminating barriers to what we can produce for our customers, while reducing the time between when orders are placed and when they are shipped, without compromising product quality. We’re actively growing our business to meet the demands of e-commerce, and by adding Kornit to our production line, we are confident we will be able to meet the challenges and ambitions Awkward Styles will have moving forward.”
“Digital print is catching fire in the fashion industry because nothing can match the graphic quality, speed, and variety of fabrics to which it can be applied,” said Chuck Meyo, President of Kornit Digital Americas. “Whether you’re serving global fashion brands or online entrepreneurs building a brand in their living room, the key to meeting that demand is empowering print-on-demand companies like Awkward Styles with the agility and rapid production times they need to receive an order, print the pieces, and ship them out with as little leg work as possible. We’re proud to be their go-to provider for reliable, capable on-demand production capabilities, and elevating the industry with high-capacity, customer-focused, sustainable innovation.”
