The latest addition to the ZSK line of commercial embroidery machines is the Racer 1XL. With a sewing field of 27.5 inches (700 mm) by 23.6 inches (600 mm), it is ideal for embroidering on oversized jerseys, jacket backs, banners, flags, blankets and similar sized items. In tubular mode, the field measures 17.25 inches by 16.62 inches.
Offered by GSG, this singlehead features 24 needles making it more efficient with less need to change out thread colors. When not needed for oversized products, the sewing table can be dropped down to sew tubular items or caps making it versatile enough to do any type of job. When sewing with the big border frame, stitches per minute averages around 800 and for tubular products and caps, it runs at 1,000.
The small sewing arm is ideal for sewing small areas such a pocket, socks, gloves and even shoes. It also allows the needle to sew very close to the edge of the hoop. A new feature is a moving thread rack. As the machine sews, the rack moves with the needle reducing tension issues as the machine changes colors during sewouts.
The adjustable pressure foot can be set to four different heights making it possible to embroider on everything from burnout T-shirts to carpets. Advances in the machine’s software have increased the sensitivity of bobbin and bobbin thread sensors. So even when small stitches are made, the machine does not think a thread is broken and stop.
An optional sensor light automatically detects when a hand is close to the embroidery head and will instantly stop the machine preventing injury.
