Alma Mater Wear, a Columbus, Ohio-based supplier of collegiate merchandise, is using an InkSoft webstore to help raise funds for the fight against cancer. A long-time supporter of the Pelotonia bike ride for cancer research, the decorator hopes to increase the amount raised in past years due to the online convenience of ecommerce.
The apparel wholesaler, which expanded into direct online sales in April 2018, had previously partnered with Arizona software developer InkSoft in Web-based fundraising for local colleges. Recognizing the potential for boosting Pelotonia contributions and supporter engagement, Alma Mater created and launched https://stores.inksoft.com/alma_mater_pelotonia/shop/home, which features licensed and nonlicensed Alma Mater merchandise, from T-shirts and sweatshirts to jewelry and sports bottles.
A link on the Alma Mater homepage allows riders to request an individual fundraising code which supporters can enter to direct funds to the selected rider (15 percent of the sale goes back to the rider).
The webstore adds a new component to Alma Mater’s Bike Ohio shop and Jody Sima Foundation efforts to raise funds for cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute.
