Rowmark Employees “Walk a Mile” In Support of Charity

Rowmark employees continued a long tradition of participation in the Open Arms Domestic Violence and Rape Crisis Services’ “Walk A Mile” fundraiser, held April 28 2018 in Findlay, Ohio.  Rowmark fielded a team of five employees: Vice President of Finance Vic Siewert; Distributor Specialist Dennis DeMuth; Production Manager Jason Kloepfer; Press and Lamination Supervisor Brent Wherle; and Extrusion Supervisor Kevin Stricklen. All braved an unseasonably cold spring day to walk a mile in red, patent leather high-heeled shoes, coming away with the “Most Likely to Break a Heel” award.

Director of Marketing Communications Jessica Heldman-Beck, who serves on the Open Arms board of trustees along with Vic Siewert, was instrumental in planning the fundraiser, which raised more than $30,000 for the nonprofit organization.

The annual fundraiser serves a dual purpose: to raise awareness of domestic violence and sexual assault, and to raise funds for Open Arms, which provides emergency shelter for survivors of domestic violence or sexual assault, and their children, as well as rape crisis support, outreach and child advocacy programs and a violence recovery project.  MORE INFO

 

One of Rowmark’s five Core Values is Servant Leadership, and Rowmark employees take this commitment very seriously. Rowmark consistently has one or more employees serving on the Open Arms’ board of trustees, and fields a team for

the Walk-A-Mile event each year.
