The Odyssey Series of manual screen printing presses has long been a great machine for anyone getting started in screen printing. Offered in bench and floor models with a selection of color/station configurations, the series is known for its affordability and ease of use.
Recently, Workhorse improved the press with changes that now make it more durable and lightweight. Despite higher manufacturing costs incurred by these improvements, Workhorse has opted not to pass these on to customers, making the Odyssey an even better value than before.
On the rotary floor model, the upper and lower turrets have been redesigned. These are now made of honeycombed metal, which is lighter yet stronger than the former steel. The platen arms are also stronger resulting in minimal deflection.
An advanced microregistration system has been added replacing the former gate with nylon bolts. The new system features a capture fork and bearings, the same structure used on the company’s automatic presses. This improvement is more dependable and has been known to last the lifetime of the press without needing adjustment.
Also improving the microregistration are heavy-duty springs, which are now located underneath the print head. Depending on if the press is going to be used for larger, oversized platens or smaller-than-standard platens, the springs can be customized to the workload required.
Finally, the platens also have been upgraded from standard wood to rubber-coated aluminum with a quick-release system for faster set-up times.
The maximum screen width is 23 inches and other features include adjustable off-contact, adjustable screen angle, large diameter registration points, and easy-load, quick-change pallets. MORE INFO
